Project Life: Week 16 ( My First Week!)

I had a lot of fun working on my first week of project life. I did all the journaling sitting at starbucks after I dropped Anurag off at gymboree. I took some stamps, ink, a pen, martha stewart label and some journaling spots. I totally forgot to take the washi tape! That sure would have been handy.I had two hours to spare, and I made full use of it! I was so happy. Surprisingly, I was not distracted at all. I added the date after I got back home. I loved capturing the whole week. I am going to make a separate layout for day out with Thomas and anything which has to be scrapped the traditional way. That said, I want to add more details in each pocket. I am missing the embellishment! I want to add bits n pieces, some clips, arrows etc. Some cute factor:D

I didn't want to complicate the first week. I made it pretty simple and easy. I plan to add a little more details in the second week. I hope you like it! Thanks for visiting me! I appreciate all your comments:)
Much Love! Have a Good Weekend!

Goodies for Project Life!!!

I have decided to start project life. I love the whole concept and it takes care of photos which never make it to layouts. Also, I never scrap me or Sid..so this will be a good memory keeper of all of us together!

I got tons of washi tape. I have not used any yet but I am really excited! What I liked about it was the ease to decorate my journaling cards with it. Just a little pop of color!

I got Becky's variety pack of 60 pages, page dividers, big envelope pages and a pack of design G. I am soooo excited about these! Thankfully I could get my order of variety pack in before it was sold out on Amazon. That would have been a bummer!

I got some smash stuff for project life. I really like date stamp. I haven't got any of the other smash embellishments yet. May be I will, not sure. I am thinking of making my own with paper and washi tape...

I got some Martha Stewart home office supplies from Staples on the weekend. I am not a big fan of her but I really liked these. I like the labels! I didn't the manila tags, they were expensive! I plan to order it from amazon, a pack of hundred is 5 dollars. Yeah they don't have the blue reinforced hole but they have a brown one instead. I don't think it matters much and I am pretty sure they must be the same quality as avery is making them for Martha Stewart too. That's my opinion anyways! I liked the page protectors. They were $3.99 plus tax. It is a pack of 10 protectors. Pretty good ! They have flaps on the top of each pocket, I think that's very useful! I just got one set of tabs to see if I will really use them or not. I tested everything with my ph tester and it looks like they are all acid free! Btw...the cute lemon journaling card you see was $1 from Joann's or Michael's..Don't remember and it is acid free!

I got these stamps to stamp on the journaling cards and to stamp on the washi tape. I love it! So cool and economical set with all the latest designs! They are by Paper Smooches and there shipping is very reasonable.

I printed out lots of journaling cards. All of them were free downloads. I cut them out with a trimmer and rounded the corners. I couldn't justify buying her core kit with so much paper in my stash and these cute printable available online. Let's see how it goes. But, her core kit is good for someone who is just starting out and don't have a stash at home and are absolutely time pressed and just want to keep it simple! Thats me though...her clementine kit is very cute and colorful. If I were to get it, I would go with that one for sure!

I didn't get Project Life binder but instead got the faux leather album by We R Memory Keepers. I got the black one. It is really nice! It came with 10 page protectors! Becky's folder though wipe-able is paper and I wanted a leather one.
So, I got tons of goodies and yes I have blown my budget for the next two months! I am absolutely excited about starting project life! I am working on last weeks and need to do the journaling tonight. Other than this I am also writing everyday in Mom's one line a day and bi-weekly layouts. Hopefully, I can do more layouts. I plan to do layouts as well when there are a bunch of photos which are scrap worthy! I think will the stresses in life this is the hobby which keeps me going and keeps me sane! I love it! I will be back with my first project life layout tomorrow! Exciting Times! Much Love!

My Camera Stamp!

I have been wanting to get the Love Struck stamp set by Amy Tangerine cause I totally love the camera stamp. So today,( now that I have blown my budget for two months:D LOL ,dont ask how! You will see that in the next post!! ) I decided to make a camera stamp using pazzles! This is a pazzles image to which I added the heart. It came out super cute! I am totally proud of myself! I watched two of Klo's(she is amazing!) videos and finally tried it. I did waste some stamp rubber due to wrong cuts. Cleaning the path took some effort. But I got it! I am sooo happy with it! I actually wanted the heart to be colored in..but forgot to give the inner line for the heart, it still looks alright. I can always toss that little heart out and just draw it in myself when I stamp, or write numbers/words in the lens.

I plan to clean the stamp with baby wipe and try sanding it a little more, so I can get a crisper and bolder image. Going to bed with a big smile :) Hope you like it! Thanks for visiting me!

Challenge #2 at Color Me Scrappy

I can't believe its already time to post the second challenge over at Color Me Scrappy! We had a whopping 25 entries for the first challenge! The winner for the challenge would be announced in a few days. I hope we get even more entries for the second challenge.

The color palette for the second challenge is...

This is what I came up with! I loved playing with these colors!

Layering doesn't come naturally to me! It was a lot of effort but I loved how it turned out. There is a funny story behind these pictures. I got my first new smart phone and we went to the park. Took pics and kept thinking..why are the pictures so foggy, not clear. We were disappointed. We tried different modes and after a couple of days we finally realised..we had not removed the plastic wrapper on the camera! So duhhhhh!!

I used home made misting spray on the layout. It was easy. Just some acrylic paint, water and mod podge. I got the spray bottle from walmart travel isle. I stamped the background with the woodgrain stamp to match the texture on the table in the inspiration pic. Overall I am happy with it!

I hope you'll stop by the Color Me Scrappy blog and take a look at what the rest of the Design Team made using these colors as inspiration! Come play with us for a chance to win this month's fabulous prize,a mixture of chipboards,alphas,stickers,rub-ons etc. by KI Memories!

Challenge #1 at Color Me Scrappy!

Hope everybody is having a good weekend so far! I am super excited today! The first challenge over at Color Me Scrappy Blog has gone live TODAY! Run over to the CMS blog to check it out!

Below is the color palette for the first challenge!

LOVE these colors- bright and happy! I had so much fun making a two pager with these colors!

The moment I saw these colors , I knew these photos would work perfectly. I tried replicating the blue and the red tiles in the photos by those tiny 1/2inch squares. Used boundary water border punch for the water. Used pazzles to cut the orange bubble border.

I hope you'll stop by the Color Me Scrappy blog and take a look at what the rest of the Design Team made using these colors as inspiration! And play along, of course! We can't wait to see what you come up with! Did I mention there are prizes to be won? I hope we have inspired you a little with our creations. Come play with us!
